我不会说普通话; or, the strange case of Aaron vs Deserts.
While looking through our site stats, I found that a ton of people were downloading Sounds I Made, and most of them were coming from this mysterious Chinese page with no apparent connection to Aaron or whatever sounds he might make. (Scroll down to the bottom to see the link.) After spending a lot of time with Google translate and google.cn, our best guess at what’s going on is this:
1. A Chinese music search engine spiders ofrecordings.com and indexes our music.
2. Somehow, “Sounds I Made” gets tagged incorrectly. It’s marked as a song called “So” by a pop-rock singer named 张悬 (Zhang Xuan, or “Deserts Chang”).
3. Some guy writes a review of the album and puts up links to all the songs.
4. He finds Aaron’s song on the search engine and doesn’t check the links. Or, more likely, he listens to the first few seconds, hears some smooth guitar riffs, and thinks it’s the right song.
So, 你好 to anyone who came here looking for music by Deserts; hope you like what you find. After all, Deserts and Aaron are really not so different:

that’s hilarious. You should send me more music. I have a DVD I need to send you in addition to a birthday present I’ve had for you for two years. Miss you, brother.
