Instead, a gigantic heatsink of death poked out the rear and doubled the computer's weight... This worked out fine for approximately 3 years, until last month when the power supply decided to die without warning! I guess I'm trying to say I don't recommend those power supplies with massive heatsinks instead of a fan, but then again this one worked for a few years without any problem, and especially with absolutely zero noise! Now I've got a 16-dollar cheapo power supply and it makes some noise... but the apartment's AC is still noisier so i'll live with it. shrug My desktop used to have a power supply with no fan in it at all.
