MIDI-Ox doesn’t work on Mac, but maybe you can do the same thing with MidiPipe:

What you want to do is get it to replace a note on event with a MIDI Start event; the MIDI Start re-syncs the microKorg pattern. I would play with the Message Converter feature and see if that’s possible.

Oh yeah, the AC is another major quiet factor. No one has air conditioning here. But in Virginia it gets pretty unpleasant to turn off the AC for a long recording or mixing session.

My desktop used to have a power supply with no fan in it at all. Instead, a gigantic heatsink of death poked out the rear and doubled the computer’s weight… This worked out fine for approximately 3 years, until last month when the power supply decided to die without warning! I guess I’m trying to say I don’t recommend those power supplies with massive heatsinks instead of a fan, but then again this one worked for a few years without any problem, and especially with absolutely zero noise!

Now I’ve got a 16-dollar cheapo power supply and it makes some noise… but the apartment’s AC is still noisier so i’ll live with it. shrug
